L.E.B. Electric Reconstructs Runways at Brookhaven Calabro Airport

L.E.B. Electric is proud to have played a key role in the reconstruction and modernization of critical infrastructure at Brookhaven Calabro Airport.

Working closely with HTC Landscaping of Kings Park and in active coordination with airport personnel, pilots, and construction teams, we successfully reconstructed runways 6-24 and 15-33—all while keeping the airport operational.

Our scope included trenching along taxiways and runways, concrete bases and encased PVC conduit, 5kV cable installation, new taxiway and runway light fixtures, signage upgrades, REIL lights & PAPI fixtures, and constant current regulators.

We’re honored to support Long Island’s aviation infrastructure and contribute to safer, more efficient air travel.

🦴 Local Support, National Impact

Amityville, NY – On the surface, it’s just a dog and a veteran. But look closer, and you’ll see a powerful bond that rebuilds confidence, heals invisible wounds, and restores independence. Thanks to a generous donation from Long Island-based L.E.B. Electric, that bond is now possible for more veterans in our community and beyond.

L.E.B. Electric, one of Long Island’s premier electrical contractors, has stepped up to support Canine Companions’ Veterans Initiative — a heart-centered program providing expertly trained service dogs at no cost to veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

With this donation, L.E.B. Electric is funding two “To-Go Canine Care Kits,” which are given to veterans alongside their new service dogs. These kits include:

  • Food and feeding supplies
  • Grooming tools
  • Toys and bedding
  • Flea, tick, and heartworm medications
  • A certified service dog vest for public access

And the best part? Veterans don’t pay a penny.

🧠 Why Service Dogs Matter for PTSD

Veterans transitioning back to civilian life often face emotional and physical challenges. For those with PTSD, even simple daily tasks can feel overwhelming. That’s where Canine Companions steps in.

Their highly trained service dogs assist with:

  • Retrieving dropped items
  • Opening doors
  • Assisting with prosthetics
  • Alerting individuals with hearing impairments to important sounds

But their biggest gift? Unconditional companionship and emotional support — the kind that reminds veterans they’re never alone.

🗣️ A Word From the Donor

“Canine Companions does extraordinary work by providing highly trained service dogs to our nation’s heroes,” said William Parker, President of L.E.B. Electric. “We’re honored to help supply Canine Care Kits so that veterans can begin their journey with their new companions without financial burden.”

Parker’s sentiment reflects a growing movement in Long Island and across the nation — a renewed focus on supporting veterans in tangible, transformative ways.

L.E.B. Electric Continues to be the Leader in Electrical Contracting for Our Region’s Healthcare Facilities

We recently completed a project for Mather Hospital, with critical electrical upgrades and installations to both the Helipad and associated buildings, working alongside Hunter Roberts Construction Group, the project’s general contractor.

For the Helipad, our team installed conduit within pre-dug trenches to support the site’s lighting infrastructure, set lighting pole bases for new installations, and established a temporary helipad to ensure uninterrupted operations during the construction of the permanent facility.

Our electrical work extended to the new building, where we installed underground conduit for both normal and emergency power services, implemented power and lighting panels throughout the facility, and delivered comprehensive electrical and lighting solutions tailored to the updated layout. Additionally, we installed a new fire alarm system in full compliance with safety regulations, ensuring the highest standards of operational security.

These upgrades reinforce Mather Hospital’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and state-of-the-art facilities for patient care and emergency services.

L.E.B. Electric Donation to Canine Companions Helps Veterans with PTSD Regain Independence and Provides Physical Assistance and Emotional Support

“To Go Canine Care Kits” Give Veterans and Service Dogs Resources for their New Relationship at No Cost to the Veteran

L.E.B. Electric has made a generous donation to support Canine Companions’ Veterans Initiative, a program dedicated to providing service dogs—free of charge—to Veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This initiative not only helps restore independence but also provides vital physical assistance and emotional support to those who have served our country.

As part of this contribution, L.E.B. Electric is funding two To-Go Canine Care Kits, which are provided at no cost to the Veterans receiving a service dog. These kits include essential care items such as food and feeding supplies, grooming tools, bedding, toys, flea, tick, and heartworm medications, and a certified service dog vest for use in public settings.

Veterans with PTSD often face significant challenges adjusting to civilian life, particularly when navigating new disabilities. Canine Companions’ expertly trained service dogs can perform key physical tasks—such as retrieving dropped items, opening doors, assisting with prosthetics, and alerting individuals with hearing loss to important sounds. Equally impactful is the companionship, love, loyalty, and positivity these dogs provide, which can make a profound difference in the lives of Veterans coping with invisible wounds.

“Canine Companions does extraordinary work by providing highly trained service dogs to our nation’s heroes, helping them reclaim their independence and improve their quality of life,” said William Parker, President of L.E.B. Electric. “We are honored to support this mission and help supply Canine Care Kits so that Veterans can begin their journey with their new companions without financial burden.”

L.E.B. Electric Makes Donation to Support U.S. Military Veterans in Interim Housing

Delivery of Gift Cards to the United Veterans Beacon House bridges gap between dry goods and healthy food products for Veterans

As part of their community giving initiative, L.E.B Electric contributed $1,000 in gift cards to the United Veterans Beacon House gift card program, benefitting their interim housing residents. This donation bridges the gap between dry goods that the veterans receive every week as a delivery from the program, and healthy fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products that they can purchase.

The United Veterans Beacon House (UVBH) was founded in 1994 with headquarters in Bay Shore, New York. UVBH provides essential services to help veterans get back on their feet, including but not limited to veteran residential, employment, stabilization and advancement programs. For more information on the United Veterans Beacon House, please visit www.uvbh.org.

“The United Veterans Beacon House does amazing work to assist Long Island veterans to develop a sense of self-worth and independence,” said L.E.B. Electric President William Parker. “L.E.B. Electric is proud to support their mission and donate these gift cards in the hope that our veterans, who fought tirelessly to protect our freedoms, can have a better quality of life.”
